My Coaching Methods

SIMPLE, GREEN LIVING 

I have studied efficient, green living for 5 years, inspired by the books The Guru in You by Yogi Cameron and Gorgeously Green by Sophie Uliano. I used myself as a guinea pig for downsizing, trimming down my possessions and moving our family from a 1400-square-foot suburban home to a 2-bed, 2-bath condo downtown. I corrected inefficiencies in my finances, allowing myself the freedom to afford luxuries such as a hybrid car and plane tickets. I stay up-to-date on the latest life-simplifying services such as Blue Apron, which brings gourmet meals to your door, and Uber and Lyft, which can replace your second car (or even bring you extra income).

YOGA & MEDITATION

I hold a 200-hour certification in yoga, with emphasis on hatha yoga – a type of yoga based from a collection of ancient texts called The Vedas that were written nearly 3,000 years ago. The Vedas inspired traditions such as Hinduism and Buddhism, as well as a later text called The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali(written around 300 BCE). The way I teach meditation is inspired by the Yoga Sutras as well as retreats with luminary Deepak Chopra. I call it the Dharana Method.™ The Yoga Sutras also inspire ways to find balance and internal peace, including meditation and ethical living.

HEALTH, WELLNESS & AYURVEDA

My yoga training and study of The Vedas also include proficiency in a type of preventative medicine and natural treatments. This system, outlined in The Vedas is called Ayurveda. Ayurveda employs elements such as herbs, cleanses, exercise and diet that is based on your dominant dosha, similar to a personality profile. You can find out your dosha by taking this quiz, then balance your dominant dosha using the appropriate herbs in the shop. When you live a lifestyle that balances your dominant dosha, you feel happy, healthy and at peace.

I am a forever-student, hungry for ways to create peace and balance in my own life, so that I may authentically share them with others.
