What you didn’t know about adopting a rescue animal!

This weekend, I covered the No Kill Utah pet super adoption for KUTV 2 and talked with Temma Martin of Best Friends Animal Society to find out some surprising facts!

– if only 9 people a day adopt a rescue, Utah would be a No Kill state

– at today’s adoption, $25 for cats and $50 for dogs at Best Friends includes spay/neuter,  microchip and more!

– you can usually find a particular breed by searching PetFinder.com…rescue sanctuaries post their animals on there so you have a broader range to search if you want a special type of animal! No need for breeders.

– Utah is ALMOST a No Kill state at about 84% of animals leaving shelters alive. The goal is 90%.

Let’s help save lives by rescuing instead of buying from a breeder! I know we can do it!
